Anita and Neil Ghent own the Minuteman Press franchise in Northampton, England. On May 14, 2017, Anita and her best friend Joanne took to the skies to raise money for local charity Willen Hospice. Willen Hospice provides specialist care to patients as well as support for their families.
Supporting Willen Hospice was Anita’s way of giving back to an organization that had previously helped Anita and Jo during their times of need. Anita explains, “15 years ago, my cousin was a patient of Willen Hospice when she was diagnosed with Leukemia (thankfully she recovered). More recently, my best friend Jo and I have lost both sets of parents in the space of three years, and Jo’s dad was the last one to be cared for at the Hospice.”
Anita adds, “I have always wanted to try skydiving but Jo has never wanted to. When Willen Hospice started advertising for this year’s jump, I called her bluff! Jo said that she would skydive is I did and so we jumped.”
Leading up to the event, Anita set up a web page on JustGiving.com where she told her story and kindly asked for donations. As nervous as she was leading up to the big day, Anita was thrilled with how the event turned out and has some great news to share. “It was an absolutely fantastic day and between Joanne and myself, we have raised a total of £2600.00 for Willen Hospice.”
